Friday Five.

Happy Friday!
Five all new pretty things!

A flock of my own, for my someday house, sigh.

This print totally reminds me of me and boy.

But I need these buttons. Adorable.

Scandinavian style vintage blocks, OH yes.

Yes, the tea towels are beautiful, but the whole photograph warmed me.

I am officially in panic mode for hearts and crafts. Lots of little things to finish up.
I really hope to post some sneak peeks and I also have a few DIYs coming up.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Honestly.

Its February!! Which means..
ITS ALMOST VALENTINES DAY!!

I love Valentines day.
I know, I know...

You hate it.
Its too commercial.
It was created by card companies.
You refuse to celebrate it.
It reminds single people they are single.
Its stupid.

Are you done?

So it is over commericalized, who cares?
Welcome to every holiday in America.
Instead of making excuses,
Why dont you take the time to let someone know you love them?
Why dont you sit down and hand write a note telling someone they are important?
Instead of griping and raging on everyone who is celebrating,
why dont you just look at it as an extra special day to remind your loved ones you care?

I'm aware
"We should be telling people everyday not just this day"

Yes, we should. But we dont. It is really hard for some people to express stuff. And those of us it comes easy to, we still do not always do it.
So who cares if there is one extra special day especially for reminding people they are wonderful and loved? Who does it honestly hurt?

Maybe if we just changed our attitudes we could help show people what love really is,
"God is love, and love is real"

So this year lets just get over ourselves.
Love wins, j

New Recipe: week four.

On Saturday night we were very lazy and very hungry.

We started spouting ideas of places we could go eat, what was too expensive, what we were feeling like eating, what was closest.

Finally we decided to order a pizza.

But we continued talking and decided none of us were going to vaporize if food took a little extra time and we decided to just make the pizza ourselves. We were talking about all the kinds of pizza to make which led to dessert talk which led us to red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting that we also decided we would make.

So Maria and I got in the car and made a quick Wegmans trip. We started gathering ingredients and even splurged on the more expensive super fresh mozzarella. Snagged a girlie movie to watch and we were ready to get home and cook.

So here it is..

This week: Tomato Basil Pizza

pre-oven

post-oven
It came out really good for a first pizza. I think I would use less tomatoes because they are so watery. When cooked the made lots of water and it spilled over the side of the pizza and worried me about getting the crust soggy. But I cant complain too much because we didn't have a single slice extra. gonneee.
Yum!

I am going to try and cook Friday this week because I know Sunday for sure wont happen because we have the craft show. Also it was really cute because Boyfriend asked me if he could start helping me cook because he wants to learn too. So I want to wait until he is here to help. (ps I just love him)

Lots coming in the next few days, be sure to check in:)

goodnight world,
jess

Six clicks to the left.

We took some time out of the busyness to go just laugh with some friends.

Let me tell you unless you are friends with some pros, if you want to really laugh you should go bowling with your friends.
We got there got our ugly shoes, Kyle put in all the names (silly ones of course) and I do not think I stopped smiling for the rest of the day.
(thats me!)
In three games I got one strike haha! I had SO many close calls but that one pin just didnt want to go down.
But I cannot lie a lot of the laughs were at me because whenever I would mess up as soon as I threw the ball I would run back to our seats with a very worried look. I didn't realize I was doing it until my ridiculous friends got it on video, gesssh!
I just kept reminding them I am a crafter and do no sports of any kind. (I believe I am honestly the least competitive person in the world)

Maria also kept making embarrassing comments about ho much harder it was than wii bowling. I almost died. Everyone kept pretending to "click" themselves right and left as on wii. Oh boy.
After we did not want to part, so everyone came over to play wii at my house. The boys ended up going into five year old mode playing mario, while Maria and I made fun of the without their knowledge for hours. I got a lot of crocheting done for a project I'm doing for someone and it was a lovely afternoon.

We did some cooking for dinner for my weekly recipe. I'll post that soon. Manyyyyy more happy posts this week, I have a list in my journal so I do not forget to do any of them.

Snow Day?

Oh how I love the pretty white stuff falling from the sky, ooor lack there of.
We were expected to get some horrible horrible snow storm. Wegmans yesterday was like I crazy house, people stocking in case they were snowed in for the next three months.
I really think people forgot we live in Rochester.
Ya know, Rochester New York, where is snows A LOT.

I couldn't complain though, It gave me an extra day for sewing. And getting things ready for this weekend. Obviously I am SUPER late blogging this week (again) please bare with me on getting my groove back.

Lets start from the weekend..
.Saturday.
It was Miss Molly's royal birthday party. Molly is one of the littles I nanny for.
EVERYONE dressed up, I wore one of my old prom dresses.
THE KIDS LOOKED RIDICULOUSLY ADORABLE.
Molly's mom is super creative so for the first half of the party she had all these stations set up that the kids could go between and do fun things.
-crown making-cape making-make up and hair-face painting-jewelry making-they loved it!

Then we played games..
This was the Queen and the Princess telling the subjects that "royal jewels had been stolen by thieves and we must find them by sundown." (Is literally what the six year old said)

Then they returned the jewels to the princess.

Then they played pass the poison apple.
ps. this is what happens when your boyfriend is the tallest at the party:)

We ended with dancing and sillyness.
It was just the perfect kids party. A lot like the ones I hope to throw my own children someday. No bounce houses, or play places. Just simple home made fun. Happy Heart.

Much more tonight (I hope) we had a busy weekend:)
