Le wedding// DIY: Glitter Tape

Last week was one of the greatest weeks, hence my lack of updating.
So to be back in your good graces I thought I would start my blogging week with my very first Le Wedding post. Here goes nothing..
I am going to be honest, I LOVE glitter. You may be thinking it doesn't really seem like my thing and to be perfectly honest, you're right. But there is just something magical about it that automatically makes you feel slightly like a fairy princess.
This is an easy peasy way to dress up any of your wedding details, programs, place settings, thank you cards.
Just have fun with it:)

1. scissors 2. double sided tape 3. glitter

[just so you know] I highly suggest getting double sided scrapbooking or poster tape that has backing on one side. Otherwise things will be a bit messier. If you get standard double sided tape you will have to adhere it to your project then put glitter on the entire thing to be able to preserve one sides sticky-ness. This way you can make the glitter tape and use it now, or save it for later!

1. pour some of your glitter into a dish

2. cut your tape

3. put your tape face down in the glitter until the strip is completely covered.

4. peel, stick, enjoy!

cut your tape in various ways to get different looks!

There you have it! so many lovely things to catch you up on but for now I am off to my Maid of Honors to finish up my save the dates! Yippie! Be back later with a just for smiles Piggy post!

silly Monday mornings.

We have a little Monday tradition that happens every week before Greg returns to school.
After I leave for work, he uses my mini collection to set up my two favorite piggys in some silly way.
I am not really sure how or when this started but, when I come home to my empty space after nannying it is always a little something that keeps me smiling and makes the day a little brighter.

Today I just felt like maybe someone else needed a little silly happiness uplifting so I decided to share.
Who knows maybe I'll start sharing them with you every Monday, they just make me ever so happy.
As always I am so thankful for the quirky not-so-normal love I share with my Boy, I would never trade it for anything.

don't go without me.

Today is a special day because exactly six months from today, I will be marrying the love of my life.

Isn't that the most exciting thing!?
On this day I thought I was also finally ready to announce that I will be starting my DIY wedding projects on the blog. I have had tons of ideas drawn up and ready storing them up for the right time, when I finally realized if I keep waiting my wedding will be here before you know it!
So if you notice on my button tabs, a new button called Le Wedding. This where you will be able to easily access any wedding posts after they have been posted. Updates on my own wedding, inspiration, and DIYs. EP EP!
I AM SO EXCITED.
We have been moving a few things around in the last few months if you haven't noticed.
I have finally updated my about page to refer to Greg as my finance (hehe) and we added some social media buttons if you feel so inclined to uber updated with my life:)
Do you like like the sweet wedding dolls I used for this post? They were a custom order I did last month that traveled all the way to Minnesota. I loveeddd working on them and with the person who ordered them, it was a really great experience all around!
I should be updating more regularly again, I have just been so busy!
cannot wait to share all my wedding-ness with you!

late night craft date.

Our little "fam" usually gets together every weekend. One night a week that we use to just unwind, catch up, watch movies, eat food, drink coffee, or play games together.

Well more times than not lately, the uber nerdy boys in this family, decide to play some "boy" game or video game that us ladies are clearly not invited to join. This generally leads us to watch musicals, have girlie sister chats or just talk about how annoying it is that we have been excluded.
They reached new nerdy heights this week when they decided not only to play their silly card game, but watch Star Wars while they played it.
Lizzie and I simply could not handle it.
While we were sitting in my space looking around, I looked at her and said, "I have everything we could possibly need to make anything you want, what can we craft?"
Our impromptu craft night had begun, and I was oh so happy.
We decided to make little pocket journals and I cherished every moment of it.
I swear crafting with someone is always so healing for me. I love to sit in the quiet yet, both be using our imaginations to create something new. I also really love seeing how other people use my materials. Some of these things I have been saving (coughhoarding) forever and I love to see the unique ways other people see fit for them.
I loved having no agenda and nothing that needed to be done. It is really important for me, I think, to keep doing things for enjoyment and not always with a purpose intended.
I really could not have asked to spend my night a better way.
This weekend in entirety was exceptional and reminded me to be so thankful for the people to contribute to my life. I am influenced and inspired everyday.

Belated.

For having to be away from my boy this Valentines Day, I had the best one I could have possibly ever asked for.
My early morning started with the littles and we fully embraced all and overindulged in everything heart shaped and pink.
Then I went off to my Valentine breakfast with two of my very beloved ladies, Miss Lisa Baker and Miss Marisa Krol.
After good talks, lots of smiles, and delish food, Lisa and I made valentines for her kids at work.

That night Maria (whose boy is also far away) and I made dinner together, and watched a very excellent Glee Valentines Episode.
It was simple day filled with some of my favorite things, some of my favorite people, and tons of love and thankfulness for this excellent life I get to embrace each day.
