Guest post! Finding you're style.

Hello again!

I wanted to venture into a direction of creativity that I love but I don't talk about much. Fashion. I love this because like with any art its completely free to interoperation . You can pretty much do whatever you want. (within reason!) Finding your own personal style is something so wonderful, I love how you can buy a shirt or dress and wear it so differently than a friend would. I personally love mixing vintage and new items together. I want to encourage you to try new things, be bold! A friend of mine showed me this wonderful site called LOOKBOOK that just has photos of people's style, I find it helpful to pull inspiration from. If there is one thing that I could get to stick with you is that being yourself and having fun with dressing the way you want is far more important than any other aspect of fashion. Always be true to you!

Guest post: D.I.Y Dessert Table

Hello Friends!! I, Bethany am so so excited to share this fun, easy and beautiful DIY dessert table with you today. Jess and I put our creative brains together for this project. We are both are obsessed with details, sweets and of course crafts. I've wanted to do a dessert table for some time now, I love how creative they are! You can pick any theme and just run with it. Our theme was the 1960's, if you know Jess at all you know she is the queen of vintage. This girl has more pyrex then she knows what to do with, so we thought it was very fitting. This table was so so simple and took no time at all. (2 hrs tops) The only thing we had to buy was the treats, we wanted to make this project as easy as possible so buying the candy and pie was much quicker then making it all. I encourage you to get as creative as possible so if making all your treats is how you get there then more power to you!

OK so here is what you will need.

1) Pick a theme.
2) Pick fitting colors, try to keep it to 2-3 primary colors.
3) Use things you have at home. ( table cloth, jars, string etc.)
4) Dont overload your table keep it simple.
5) Banners. Its cute and fast.
6) Props! Incorporate fitting props such as our tea kettle as a vase.
7) HAVE FUN!













These dessert tables are huge at dinner parties, weddings, and even birthdays. So for your next event try it! I promise it will be a big hit! :)

Yay! Here we are!

The infamous 100th post!

I feel accomplished already. Now, I know this might not be a big deal, but to me it really is. 100 posts, thats a lot of commitment.

I do not know how many of you truly read this blog. But those who do I reallllllly appreciate you, your chats about my writings, those of you who comment, or those who even shoot me an email sometimes. The support helps me to keep going, keep being creative, and keep sharing the inner workings of my brain.

I've been trying to decided how to make my 100th post very special and I finally decided to have my first BLOG PARTYYYY! I mean what's a birthday without a party, right?

What is a blog party you ask?

New Recipe: week one.

Okay! Here goes!

If you read my resolutions/goals/commitments post (here) then you'll know I am trying to commit to one new recipe a week.

This is exciting and scary because I feel I am going to end up trying lots of new things (which really intimidates me). I am going to start rather easy, and hopefully work up to full meals.

I hope to be pretty good by the end of this year, and am thankful to have great women who happen to be great cooks in my life to steal recipes from and ask for help!

(this is actually last weeks so plan on two food updates this week)

Week one: Tomato Spinach Pasta!

It was very simple, but a real nice alternative for a quick pasta meal.

It was just me for lunch and I had enough to put away for another meal,

which brian ate that night for dinner:)

I think with this whole cooking thing I just really worry about spending the time and it not tasting good at all. But I guess that's just learning.

I already know what I am making for this week. Can't wait!
